Serial ports and Software
Hi
Can you confirm the correct serial port pin out for connection to a compact router with NS card. Also are there any known issues with WIN XP and VR milling version 2.31?
Cheers

- Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then. - Location: Sunny Brighouse

See this topic for a nice picture showing how the connections from PC to Baldor should be:

This is what you should have throughout all the adaptors and d-type bulkhead connectors - from one end to the other.
There are no issues with XP and VR Milling 2.31 as long as the Baldor is up to date....
There have been problems with RS232 communications to the older controls (with a RED segment display ) with NT,2000,XP where we have had to use a different RS232 device driver. If you are connecting to an old Baldor control (DenStep), then you should have the latest 2.1 EPROM fitted, and have control type set to 0 in machine parameters - control type 5 would give problems on an NT based operating system.
.... I've just seen that you have a NextStep ... so you shouldn't have any problem talking to the machine
