Triac Drivers

Post by davemusicmann » Thu 14 Jan , 2010 15:24 pm

I am converting a Triac for mac3 operation.
I am keeping the power supply and stepper motors
What is the most suitable size of driver and break-out board?
Thanks
Dave Mann
P.S any information on the conversion would be great

Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

:!: Just in case you hadn't realised, those posts cover more than one page...there are page numbers listed on the right at the top and bottom of each page...it's not the most obvious thing.

Hopefully someone can help with the motor info.
Most people seem to retrofit Gecko or Astrosyn drives - I would guess that you'd need 2 Amp for XY and 5 for the Z ? Any details you can find on the current drives would help ... are they Parker SD ? files/sd2_179.pdf
