Hi to ever body
I am a new owner of a triac pc milling machine
When i purchased the machine there was no software with it
The kind people at denford have given a quote for the software (not a bad price)
If any body can help and give me some advice please
Is it possible to jog the stepper motors with out using vr milling software ??? (is there any test software ????)
The machine was upgraded in 2007 with new rack and baldor euro control card (nextmove st)
Usb and can and rs232 has a green led
I have used mint machine centre and mint work bench software
The software see the card and no problems with communication on usb
I can see all the limit switches and i can start the spindle motor and change direction ,
Control all the outputs on the card from the software
All the stepper motors driver are powered up and the motors are holding there position
If i can prove the out the card drives the steppers then i will buy vr milling
It`s a lot of money to send to find out the control system is not working
Many thank Ian

Re: NEW TRIAC PC OWNER
You may be able to move the axes from workbench, but there is a fair bit of setting up done from VR Milling 5 so I can't gaurantee this will work:
If you've got Mint wb (workbench) connected, download the compiled mint file, probably: Triac UPGRADE.52xx.mex
Run the mint from workbench (the little Play button at the top of workbench)
Set comms location 36 to 1 in order to enable the drives.
Go to the wb command line and type
MR.0=-1000
which commands axis 0 (X) to move -1000 steps
You may have to alter some other things - look for FEEDRATEOVERRIDE.0 SPEED.0 etc... It's all in the help file and the .mnt file will give you some clues on COMMS locations and what they need to be
