does anyone know how to remove/limit the amount of backlash on the 'X' axis of my 'ORAC'

You will need to adjust the Tab nut on the ballscrew.
If you remove the X axis covers & stepper motor you will see the Tab nut & washer behind the pulley on the Ballscrew. If you release the tab on the washer you should then be able to righen up the nut & reset the backlash.

sorry for the delayed reply, i took to my bed ill soon after posting my problem.
