There are two ways to create a thread.

1. Start to draw the diameter of your thread at the RH end of the billet, once this is done the thread icon becomes un greyed and you can select your thread.

2. Once you have drawn the profile of your component, mouse click the horizontal line you want to turn into a thread and select “Convert to Thread”.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Personally I find it easiest to create the profile as lines / arcs adding chamfers and cutouts, then select the line (must be horizontal), and right-clicking will bring up the menu - then select Convert Line --> Thread
