Starmill PC

Post by techtom »

I have acquired a very dusty but hardly used starmill. How can I get hold of a manual and software? Is there a standard parts list for the starmill as supplied to schools describing the cables, desktop tutor etc.?
Does anyone have a copy desktop tutor keyboard overlay?
I would appreciate some photographs to confirm which model I have.
Any help welcomed.
Regards
Tom

Version 2.1 is a VRMilling Eprom.
The normal software for this would be VRMilling Ver2.31 which you can download from the Denford Website. However it will require a software licence to enable it. Did the floppy disc with the VRMilling Licence come with the machine?

Hi Martin
There weren't any discs with the machine.
There is a mention of 'codes' on the denford website. Will this help?

If the licence code did not come with the machine, we would have to charge because you are getting machine control software which is key to making the machine run.

Our charge is £150 + £5.00 P&P + VAT

We offer no Technical Support with VR Milling Ver 2 when purchased this way as there could be numerous things wrong with the machine itself. It is always best to see the machine fully working first before buying. The term "Buyer Beware" springs to mind.

How much will the VR Milling V2 cost including shipping to the US? Denford in the US will only sell VR Milling V5 now.

VR Milling 2 is a discontinued product and no longer has support.

Any issues found with it will not be corrected in the future.

Purchasing this product would not entitle you to support other than through the forum.

If you were happy with those terms then I do not see a reason why we could not supply the software.

That sounds fine with me. Denford USA emailed me about the cost. Is there a version of VR Turning that is no longe supported that I can purchase as well?

VR Turning v1 is still the current product - ask the US office if they'll do you a deal along with the V2 milling - as long as you only want supporting through the forum.
