I have a micromill 2000 Dec2001 Electrical Ser. No. 0C00271128 running VR2.8 with a dongle.
I keep getting an error message that states I need to connect data cable OR switch machine on, BUT the cable is connected and machine is on. at the rear of the m/c there is a circuit board top L/h side on this board is a 'number' LED this displays a 'dot' bottom L/h side and a straight line mid display. I could do with the error codes to explain what the problem is in order to get running once again.
Any help in this regard much appreciated.

I wouldn't read too much into the status LED - 99% of the time the problem is with the RS232 not communicating properly.
