Starturn ATC Drill / Boring Bar Mounting?

Post by paragon » Mon 10 Dec , 2007 14:57 pm

Hello All,

As mentioned in previous posts I have a Starturn PC (1993) which has an ATC (Auto Tool Changer) mounted on the cross-slide.

The ATC can hold 8 tools.
4 tools for Facing, Cutoff, Roughing etc etc
4 tools for Boring, Center Drilling Peck Drilling etc etc.

Unfortunatly it appears I maybe missing the mounts (tool holders) to hold the drill bits / boring bars in the ATC holes (It does have the grub screws though).

What design did these items take form?
Where they just stock the size of the ATC holes then drilled to the correct diameter to hold the tool with maybe a slit that when the grub screws of the ATC are tightened clamp the holder and tool at the center line?

Or did they take another form?

Kind Regards,
SRG

Yes the tool holders were bore to say the drill size you want and then slit down the longitudinal axis and clamped in position with the grub screws
