MillCAM designer asks to open a file when I go to Create G code -> Make File.
What does it mean ?

Even in later versions of MillCAM designer, the dialog box says "Open" at the top, when you try to create a G-Code file.
Just ignore the message and enter the filename you wish to create, then press OK. You should now be presented with the Create G Code dialog, and your file will be created
