Virtual Wind Tunnel Incorrect geometry Error

Post by bradders » Fri 13 Jul , 2007 9:01 am

We faced a problem with the Virtual Wind Tunnel software while trying to analyse its results

Incorrect geometry file names(s)
Please view text box for details.

Correct and reload orginal Q1 to avoid data corruption.

Could you run local solver and send us the text result of the following .des files.

I can see that their extension is .DES. This is a generic ProDesktop file format (I believe) which is not yet accepted by the F1 VWT. Instead, one should use the ProDesktop .STL export format and then the files should be readily accepted.

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

If I understand this correctly:

The error message Virtual Wind Tunnel Incorrect geometry Error means that you have tried to load the wrong type of 3D file into wind tunnel ?
And you should export an .STL file from your 3D CAD package, and load that into wind tunnel instead ?
