Hey all,
I'm doing a controls retrofit on a Novaturn and need to modify the Main motor mounting plate. This apparently has the Z ballscrew attached to it so I need to disassemble the screw. There appears to be a slotted lock nut to remove but it's not very accessible. Is there a special tool for this locknut, or at the very least some dimensions somewhere if I have to make a tool?
Thanks!
Chris

The Lock Nut is most likely a KM1

The tool we used was made at Denfords a while ago.

Ahh, excellent, thank you!
It appears SKF makes a tool for this nut... for a mere $350!
I think I'll keep my pennies and cobble up a tool of my own.

I got the lock nut and the screw out. I think I'm going to replace the bearings while I'm at it. The inside one is full of chips and I'm not crazy about them being unsealed. It looks like they're pressed in. Will they tap out fairly easily?
