Microrouter spindle board
Hello guys,
I’m new to the forum, and I’m in looking for confirmation on the spindle board;
I would like confirmation on the connection:
L1 and L2 are the main power 220v
A+ and A- are the output to the spindle motor
Now the real question:
P1 is the negative 0-10v
P2 is the positive 0-10v
So if I connect 5v to P1 and P2 I should have the spindle going half the speed. Is it correct?

IIRC P1 is the 0-10V 0V reference, P2 the 0-10V speed signal input, P3 the 10V reference so you can connect a suitable pot across P1 and P3 and take the wiper signal to P2 if required. The main thing to know is that 0-10V signals are referenced to the motor supply voltage and should not be connected to your BOB ground, it's the reason most BOBs have an optoisolated section to convert a PWM signal to an isolated 0-10V speed signal and its reference so it's safe to connect to the spindle motor board 0-10V speed input. So putting 5V on P2 referenced to P1 will give you 1/2 speed but using the digital 5V from a BOB could be dangerous.

Thanks for the feedback David.
The main power supply for that board comes from a SGR and timer;
My current understanding is that the timer count from when you close the Cnc door, and than power the SGR.
Both timer and SGR seems driven by a 24v supply.
Tomorrow I’ll check the power source of the spindle driver and than I’ll try to bypass the controller via a bypass p1-p3.

Typical to many Denford products the SGR and other relays are tied to 24V. They're energised by pulling the other end of the relay coil to ground often with something like a ULN2803 driver chip on the main control board. My Triac is like that, I don't know if it has a timer as it's a conversion work in progress. I presume the timer may be a timer relay, I've seem them in other products. I'll have a quick look at the Microrouter schematics later to see what I can see.

My current worries is: the enable of the SGR (top right signal from out2 of the Bob) is +24v, -24v or 0?
Can you help?
I’m not 100% sure the connection on OUT1 and out2 are correct to activate the SGR

I don't know what BOB you're using but the way you're suggesting connecting out1 and out2 on the BOB suggests to me that you don't fully understand the interfacing of the BOB to the Denford hardware. Luckily there's a lot of information already here on the Denford BB covering the subject, a search for the likes of 'Mach' and 'BOB' should turn up some good reading. It may not be for the Microrouter V5 but for other Denford products that have the same or similar control board and controlled hardware.

I already looked at it but I’ll look again.
My problem is the SGR enabler, I don’t understand what value take to enable it.
Do you know how the SGR works? Or better, what’s the enabler signal value expected?
