Editing Mint Files

I am currently writing a tool length Probe routine within the mint file for my machine. This Routine has been adding it to the list of "M" codes in the Mint file for my machine and it is working well.
My problem is that i would like to display a message when the routine has completed and to display the z position. does anybody know if there is a way to display a message from within the Mint file. it would also help with debugging the routine
