Hi all
I need a 4 jaw chuck for my viceroy. does anybody have one going spare that they are willing to sell.
alternatively, where would be the best place to get one from that would have a Viceroy thread (1.5 X 8TPI)
Is that a whitworth thread?
Thanks in advance. Art

Hardware/Software: None. I own a pre CNC Denford 280 Synchro lathe.
John Ward at Latheparts www.latheparts.co.uk will sort you out with a backplate, then you can fit any 4 jaw. ebay is your friend for the chuck itself.
1 1/2" x 8TPI is a standard BSF thread and will be Whitworth thread form.

Hi,
When you have a backplate that fits the nose, you machine it so that it fits the register at the rear of the chuck, which most chucks will have.
Any 4 jaw chuck should be adaptable to fit, a self centering chuck can be mounted on a backplate with a bit of play so that it can be adjusted to
be close to exactly concentric.
