Hi Guys,
I have a Novamill and Novaturn. I have been thinking about upgrading the electronics and maybe motors etc...
I have just starting training in electronics so only have a basic understanding at the moment. However I really want to learn.
Could anyone recommend reading material/textbooks/websites that can help me understand how everything about my CNC's machines work and how to repair and potentially upgrade them? I am currently having a broad electronics training but I'd like some more reading material/texts books specific to this subject.
I currently look in the control boxes and just wish I understood what everything is there for. Please some pointer and guidance would be great.
Thanks alot guys.
Miller

Where abouts are you? I am about to start upgrading a Starturn 5 to Novaturn specs. If you are looking to replace the control on that rather than pulling it to bits we could maybe work something out.
Let me know

Hi Pete,
I hope you have success with the Novaturn. I tackled a 1990 triac mill and in the end gutted it with all new electronics - quite a chore! Like you I would like to get a 1996 Novaturn lathe working. To do this, I need the electrical diagrams and am hoping you have them. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John Rennich

Re: CNC electronics textbooks/reading material
all the diagrams are on here. I have got as far as having the working starturn 5 with original DOS control, novaturn diagrams, a nextstep control and software. Unfortunately that's where it has stopped I looked through my machine and it will be sort of straight forward, need a 24v PSU when I get going. I think I will get a smaller case for the control. It all ground to a holt when I decided to rebuild my landrover.... takes up a lot of time space and money, that and jobs on the house. I will do it just not tomorrow

Pete,
Thanks for your reply. You mentioned you had all the drawings - would that be for a Noveturn 1969? If so, would you be able to scan them?
