Hi All,
I have owned a Mirac for many years and it has been working fine until now.
My machine is the LCB3 type with the single inverter for spindle and toolchanger. After a tool change the spindle will not re-start, then after what seems like 2 minutes it starts running, the problem seems random as it can run for a few parts or it can do it on the next tool, my concern is, depending on how long the delay is before the spindle re-starts the tool sets off into the stationary work after a short delay as if its in a wait loop that has timed out. Any ideas what to look for would be a big help.
Thanks
Graham

Check that the toolpost is fully back. You should not be able to feel any movement in the toolpost faceplate if it's locked back. It may just need lubericating.
Re: Spindle will not re-start after toolchange
Thanks for the reply.
I checked that and it seems fine, I also put more oil in the little ball valve lube point but that made no difference.
I can hear a small relay click in the back but not the big one that normally sounds.
Any more ideas anybody?
Thanks
Graham

Re: Spindle will not re-start after toolchange
It may be worth trying some manual toolchanges to check the toolpost cycle is complete, It should update the tool position on the screen when complete.
It may be as simple as having to bend the toolpost clamp switch slightly to activate it earlier. You can get to this by removing the aluminium cover plate on the toolpost.
