Hi all,
I have just received a MRC40 router and DP50 dust extractor, but am having some problems setting it up. The instructions are a bit unclear and I'm not sure if parts are supposed to fit quite as they do. This primarily concerns the connection of the DP50 to the MRC40.
Firstly, I'd like to check that I have connected the correct end of the hose to the DP50, as below:
(Image 1)
This leaves we with the following end:
(Image 2)
If I insert it through the back left hole, only the nozzle can pass, but doesn't extend far and seems _very_ loose, as below:
(Image 3)
However, if I stick it through the hole on the left side of the case, there is an even bigger gap. Is this gap okay? If so, how/where do I connect the end of the hose in the enclosure? With the metal clasp?

Many thanks for your time, I have a few more questions regarding the contents of the MRC40, but will post those in other threads to keep this ot.
A

Re: MRC40 and DP50 setup
It looks to me that you are missing the hose that runs from the router mount in the machine, up to the back wall which is then clipped in the terry clip and secured with a cable tie to stop it popping out and then goes to a mount which is fixed in the larger hole using the 2 small screw holes that are round it.
I could be wrong as I have only used the older microrouter and compact. But given the clip is on the back wall and the holes are there.

Hi,
The hose should go through the hole in the sidewall then the spring clip on the back wall and into the bracket by the spindle.
The hole around the hose is normal as it will allow air into the cabinet.
The vac is designed to remove airborne dust and create a negative pressure inside the cabinet.
