Hardware/Software: Orac
If I leave my orac on with nothing happening e.g not running; it switches it's self off and I mean every thing off as the mains has been switched off.
This happens after about 25 - 30 mins.

Is this normal?
I have not tried it running yet as still trying to get to grips on programming.

Its still running the old electrics.

Any help would be great.
Cheers

Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Does it come back on by itself ?
It sounds like some kind of self-reseting overload or thermal switch that's cutting power when warmed up.
I don't know if this sort of thing was fitted to the Orac...probably best for you to have a good look through the orac electrical and maintenance documents.

No there are no self resetting device in the Orac - maybe the power supply or extension lead has some protection ?

I guess you will need to check with a meter.

Many thanks for your help.
After alot of checking guess what it was?

Nothing wrong with the lathe!!

I had it plugged into a surge protection socket which was faulty, after 20 - 30 mins it would trip out.
It did the same with a normal pc plugged in.

Thanks again for the help.
