Denford Cyclone problems

Hi,

New to site and very new to CNC work. I have just picked up a Denford (Harrison) TU150U machine and I can't seem to get a programme to work on it. I have managed to get the TU150 software to run from the 1.4 floppy and I have managed to get the chuck turning manually and the tool changer moving in the X and Y axis but also can't get the tool changer to turn. I am a complete novice and would appreciate any simple step by step help.

Continuing Phil's query(he's my H.O.D) we are still continuing to have problems with the turret not rotating, we did find the gearbox seized up with old grease and other contaminates. We rebuilt the gearbox and reconnected it to the machine but, yet again no joy. Has anybody got the electrical schematics and the drawings for a DM8 tool turret and gearbox. We have the original manual for the machine but this only shows the connections in the control box.

Thanks for the info Admin. We may have determined the root of the problem as the rotary switch..... Slight problem no matter what method of searching can we find the right replacement. Any ideas? Do you have some secreted away in a box in a dark recess somewhere? I would appreciate any info....

The rotary switch is diectly available from Baruffauldi but they aint cheap as iv got 2 sat on my desk now.
Before you buy a switch are you 100% sure it is the rotary switch in the back because if your not then dont foegt that these turrets are phase to phase so it wont rotate if you have the phases switched over in the wrong order?
Simple fix is to switch one of the main power phases to the machine and make all fans are blowing or pulling air in the right direction when switched on then try the turret.

I belive this is a DM8 toolpost & not a Barrufaldi so I can't see why they would have the switch in stock.

The Denford part number was BI00425C ROTARY SWITCH

I will check on Monday if we have any in stock

Thanks for the info, contacted them but, they were as much use as a rubber crutch. The only thing they did was send a link to the grayhill website.(not as though this hadn't been my first port of call)........ I will continue to look for the original switch or try and find an equivelent one..... Once again thanks for your help.
