My micromill spindle motor cuts in and out. Sometimes the motor will not start at all. Spinning the spindle usually gets the motor turning, but it acts like an old car engine that needs a serious tune up.
At the back end of the spindle motor there are 2 x plastic caps with a slot in, use a coin or a wide flat screwdriver to undo.

My actual thought before I contacted this website were brushes. As I look at the schematic you sent it is indeed my machine, however, there are no external brush access ports. The outside of the motor has no openings at all. It appears to open the motor can I must remove the thru bolts that hold the entire assembly together. Is this correct? Is re-assembly as easy with this motor as dis-assembly?
There were 2 different spindle motors fitted ...............
1. Access to the carbon brushes was by removing the rear end plate
2. Access to the carbon brushes was by removing the 2 x plastic securing caps at the end of the spindle motor barrel
