New to this site.
We have a problem with the speed contol on our lathe.
Model:TDS/C/R/CNC (Feb 1985)
When in manual mode, the spindle will start, however when we try to vary the speed, via the +ve / -ve keys on the spindle speed section of the keyboard, there is no response in either direction.
At present the spindle speed is varying (self-fluctuating) between 100RPM & 120RPM.
Does anybody have a solution?

What is a TDS/C/R/CNC?
Is it an Easiturn / Micromaster?
Picture of the machine might help to at least find manuals / schematics.

Just a couple of quick questions.
Have you messed around in the front panel of the machine recently? There is a 2 core ribbon cable that plugs in to P2 on the TIO.C board. If it is removed & refitted upside down then you get the same symptoms as you are reporting)
Do the buttons beep when pressed?
We also have a section on the Denford Forum for the Orac which may be of help. viewforum.php?f=43&start=0
