I would like to fit a high pressure coolant pump to my zeroturn so I can use a bar puller. Does anyone know the maximum power of the coolant pump motor I can fit to the lathe without having to modify the wiring. Obviously I realise I will probably have to change the overload trip for the motor.
Hi,
It's not often we see anyone with a ZeroXXXX machine - I presume this is a 3 phase Fanuc machine ?
I'd roughly add up the KW's already used to work out how many Amps you're using, then you'll know what capacity you have left on the supply (probably plenty)
eg, there could be a 3ph 220V transformer for all the Fanuc gear - maybe 2.2Kw ??
Plus other stuff...
Then use P(Watts) = I(Amps) x V(Volts) x 1.73 (SQRT 3 for 3 phase)
so current used = P / (V*1.73)
eg for the Transformer: 2200 / (415*1.73) = 3 Amps
