Starturn PC alarm <50> on start up

Hope someone can help. A collegue has just got a set up consisting of PC running Windows 95, a chageable overlay keyboard, a lathe named Starturn PC and a large control box. The Denford software on the PC is Fanucsld. When we try to run it goes through initial start then gives a alarm <50> 'MIRAC controller slave disconnected' and the software terminates.
I've checked the RS232 cable against other posts and connections appear OK.
Inside large box, marked 'Starturn 5', we have main pcb LCB3 with LED2 lit and one relay indicator LED lit. The ROM on the main pcb is labelled MIRAC E929 EDIT9 ver2 and is at the right hand end of the U2 socket, i.e. empty pins to its left.
Any ideas and can I prove either PC or main pcb fault. I did down load some software but no improvements!

Thank You. :delirious:

It may be worth checking the GO file. It should be similar to this,

IBM.RS2 1
$2F8 3 MACHINE
DENFORD1.KBD 1
18.2 $3F8 4
VGA.CRT 0
FANUCSLD.APP

Also windows can screw up the dos software. Try restarting the PC in Dos mode or altering the properties of the start icon to reboot in Dos.

Can you supply the serial number for the machine & the date of manufacture.

Thanks, I've confirmed the GO file and it is as you showed. I thought the Fanucsld program should run from Windows? I did try from the DOS window, but not from a DOS start, I'll give it a go and report back.
