Hi Guy,s new I,m new to this forum, I have just bought an Orac lathe but the spindle does not turn in manual or in a program. The vfd is a Imo Jaguar Cub, the vfd light is on but when I press the spindle on button on the control panel the fault light comes on.
Can anybody help please, thanks.

Maybe these pics will help with fault finding:

I'd be tempted to start by isloating the rest of the system, and see if I can get the spindle working "manually". ie, by wiring up pushbuttons for the enables and a 9V battery box for the analogue command.

Thanks for the response. The IMO I have is the VC150 but I tried as you suggested with it disconnected from the system and a manual push switch but the fault led still comes on when the switch is pushed and there is no response from the motor. So I suppose the inverter is U/S. If this is the case would it be possible to fit a different inverter as the VC150 seems rather over rated for this situation and is set on its lowest output of 3amps and the motor only draws 2.3amps.
Thanks

I'm sure there will be a whole host of cheapish drives you could use, you just need to double check the I/O would match (ie, analogue cmd spec, IO syncs or sources, etc...)
