Anyone got the spindle bearing sizes and specs/ratings for an 86 pnc triac with an r8 spindle. Bearings are a tad too crunchy for comfort.

just so we are on the same page here, ive an old 1986 triac, i know the later triacs have a different layout, so likely the loom will be different. ill try the energise pin anyway and see what happens. assuming i have the correct pin out

the understanding i have is that the drives require a 12v step & direction signal to operate. can someone confirm this? does anyone know if there are any available parallel breakout boards that can output 12 rather than 5v TTL? or recommend any other solutions for that matter.

Nope, and frankly it's a bit late for that.
Got the spindle and stepper drive power sussed and fitted a mesa 7i98 card, breakout board, 5v and 12v power supplies and now it's just getting control signals sorted and linuxcnc configured.

It was running flawless before. Machining brass for roughly an hour before the issue occurred. Still have the part on the machine, in the vice waiting to resume. So since the battery isn't an issue, the cable is fine, the software/computer is fine then it must be an issue with the top board itself ...
