Denford Orac for sale

Post by peteT »

Denford Orac CNC lathe, complete with collet holder, drawbar and collets, toolholders (about 6), spare electronics etc. Not used for some time, powers up, but not sure how to drive it. Clean tidy, ideal for mach3 conversion. Any interest to anyone, please make an offer? Located close to Junction 25 of M1 (Derby/Nottingham).

Hi Michael
the Orac is indeed still for sale. I've got no idea what they are going for these days. For me it is now taking up space in the workshop which I can better use. So if it can go to a good home where someone can give it a bit of TLC and make use of it, that would be great. Obviously be nice to get something for it, but no wish to be greedy, so perhaps you can suggest a price you'd be happy with. Can't offer any guarantees with it. As far as I am aware it is all complete and shows little signs of use (typical college machine). Electronics was all working, spindle was running and axis moving. I got a complete set of spare electronics for it, which is included (from a guy who upgraded to Mach3). Indeed I was minded to put Mach3 on it myself but never got round to it. Can send you some more photos if you like. You can email me direct at pete1466@btinternet.com if you like. kind regards, Pete

Hi Pete. Thanks for reply, I am not sure re price, I have seen the plain silly prices from dealers, but I am not sure they ever sale anything, as I don’t know anyone who as purchased one. I do no the cost of converting a Denford machine to Mach3, as I converted a Denford 2600 router. I am in Yeovil so some way to travel. If you pm me a price, I can say yes or no. Thanks Michael
