TDS metric/imperial or imperial/metric screwcutting.
To cut imperial threads on a metric TDS, or metric threads on an imperial TDS needs, amongst other things, a special cast iron quadrant bracket. The same bracket is used in both cases. If theres any demand out there for these brackets, I'm happy to make a pattern and get some cast. Price a bit uncertain, but likely to be similar to those I had cast for my Synchro, at about £60 each,

Re: TDS metric/imperial or imperial/metric screwcutting.
Hi
I have looked at this option but I found that the cost of having gears cut was eye watering.
As with the casting, it would be more cost effective for a group of people to place one order for multiple gear sets.

I now have a second lathe that cuts metric and imperial threads so I won't be taking advantage of your thoughtful offer for castings.

Yes, if you have to buy the gears the cost can add up. I made my own, so it wasn't so bad. Its not as if the market is awash with surplus Denford gears. In the UK, John Ward will cut them at a good price, but even so, for a full set it adds up.
