Hi All.
Is it possible to upgrade the spindle speed on the Triac to (for example 8000rpm)?
I have seen a video on YouTube where a Triac Fanuc was upgraded to 10000rpm by fitting a Chinese 2.2Kw spindle motor and a radiator/pump to cool it.
Would the spindle bearings be capable of this speed?

Hi Brian. With a 3:1 reduction you can get 8000 rpm from the chinese spindle and the bearings are close to the max op speed. I would replace the bearings with better ones to be on the safe side.

Is it a big job to replace the bearings?
I wouldn't mind getting a third Triac VMC to make several upgrades to.

What would be best bearings to replace with (source).
Would be nice to upgrade to triple stack steppers to increase rapid feedrate.
