I would appreciate any help with adding switches to enable zeroing of the X and Z axis digital readout when in Manual mode. On the Emco Compact cnc lathe zeroing is simply achieved by pressing a button switch when the axis is displayed on screen, one for each axis.
I do not know how the Orac counts but guess it may be on stepper pulses or similar, anyone have any ideas ?
I did ask a question many months ago about method for zeroing but no replies at all.

there are two switches, one for the x and one for the z datum. The z is on the back of the saddle facing the chuck and is activated buy a block clamped to the bed, and the x is under the cover at the rear of the topslide which is activated by a rod fixed to the topslide.

Hi angel-tech
Thanks for your input.
The switches you refer to are the axis limit switches but they only prevent overtravel of the slides. When in manual mode and the limits operated by hand the display blanks off but then returns to the same reading when the switch released.
The other resets work as expected, one under the pan to allow a slide to be moved off the limit manually and the one at the right hand side just stops the program and returns to the vdu diplay and cnc mode, neither reset the readout to 000.
Here's hoping !!!!

Hi,
You could do that in your Gcode... G92 x0 z0 ???
If the Orac supports G92 code that is...
