Hi all, I have just bought an 1983 Orac in great cond and totally standard.
I have written a few progs on xp laptop using the old dos software with no problems. I could now really do with an ATC or even a quick change tool post with holders, as this has the single clamp.
Cheers
John

Hi John
I am using my Orac the same as you, standard form with programming either by manual entry or DOS program transmitted from a computer.
When using in Manual mode have you found a simple way to zero the DRO, I have to scroll through using the axis buttons but with the Stop in to prevent axis movement, when both at Zero the stop is released so movements then displayed in the normal way.
I have tried both of the resets in all sorts of ways but to no avail, any advice appreciated.
I have started a build for a 8 Tool turret but at this time it will be manually operated although a simple
task to add a stepper/DC drive unit, pictures at the following link.

Hi Emgee,
I've been watching the pictures of your tool changer appear on photobucket with interest. Do you have any drawings/CAD models of the tool changer? I'd be very interested to see them - I'm thinking of building one myself.
Thanks,
Luke
