Sorry if this is a silly question, but you have checked all the terminal fuses located at the top left of the electrical box ? You unscrew the black cap in the middle of them...at a guess F1 - F4 would be there
Have you got sufficient air pressure ?
There's a possibility e stop could look ok to the software, even if it isn't to the drives, because of air pressure...
Oh and I was thinking of something else - it was a Meteor lathe that had the drive on button

Yes I did check all the fuses and circuit breakers. The air pressure is about ninety going into the black box on the back of the machine, which I believe controls the pneumatics, on the inside of the box there is a check valve and a value that when I adjust the pressure on the inside valve it lowers the tool changer. Then below that there is a panel where you can excess the motors and drives. everything seems to move ok by hand.
Does anyone know if there are some other interlocks that I may be missing. The only ones I see are the front sliding door and the EMO.

Hey there, I have a couple questions, first how do I check out the axis modules to make sure they are working correctly.
Second is there a way to get to the ladder logic diagram, so search for the probelm that way. The probelm seems to be with the
communation from the software to to the electrical box, we were manually able to get the spindle to work. And we are getting signals for the machine
for doors open, e-stop. But we can get the software to run anything.

If you're getting door open messages, and run the spindle manually (I presume here, you mean from the VR5 control panel MCode button, and not by pressing a relay in?) then it sounds like communication and logic (ie the mint program) is running OK and I wouldn't worry about the logic.
Do the axis positions move on the display when you home, or jog the machines ?

OK that worked to ge the spindle to respond, I decide to recheck whether you can turn the motor with the EMO push in in and yes I can move the belt drive and the screw with and with the EMO pressed.

Do you mean you can move the axes by hand with and without the Emergency button pressed in ?I can move the belt drive and the screw with and with the EMO pressed.

1. yes the axis move with or without the emo pressed
2. now the spindle will rotate using the serect home button
3. now the spindle and the Y axis time out, instead of just the spindle
4. Nothing moves when you try to home
5. I only get time out message nothing esle

I'm still sure that the problem lies with the power to the drive cards, a fuse or the emergency stop circuit is not being energised to bring the drives on.
However, if you say you can run the spindle from M03 in VR5, then from a drawing I've just looked at, this means that the ESR relay must be energising.
The spindle drive will not power up until ESR (emergency stop relay) is energised.
ESR is also required to power up the axis drive transformer - can you check voltage on wires N and 11 going into the drive TX? - There should be 240V AC across the inputs to the tx when ESR is energised

How do you test the drive cards, so what pin in the power on and what should it read.

Hey, we are back to work on this machine, does any have any idea on how to test the drive cards?
We are going to be checking out the EMO circuit to make sure that is ok.

Is it worth checking the fuses again?
Check the fuses to the left of the isolator switches.
Check the 3 fuses on the back plane. (0n the left of all the orange plugs).
