Cyclone X Axis Dovetail Repair

Just thought I would put this here in case it helps anyone...

Had some problems with the lathe especially parting off, could push and pull the turret up and down about 0.5mm. Put clock everywhere and couldnt pin point where the play was, then the dovetail fell off, must have been cracked (probably tightening the Gib didn't help)

Milled away the bad part

Ballscrew had a 3mm bend in it so had to straighten...

Got it pretty good and had the machine up and running to get some rush jobs out but will invest in a new one.

Anyone have a recommendation for replacement ballscrew suppliers?

You've made a nice job of the repair.

Sadly, I don't have any Ballscrew ideas other than someone like https://www.cnc4you.co.uk/Ballscrew There's are not bad quality - but you have to machine the end yourself to suit.

Seeing what you've done above, this is not going to be a problem for you!

To be fair, even the (decent quoted tolerance) ones from AliExpress are pretty good - just potentially a bit of a gamble.
