Re: Spindle drive connection
yes 0-10v is analogue - sometimes you get 3 terminals on a spindle drive: 0V, 10V and Speed Ref (Analogue IN). So you can wire up a Potentiometer...the middle pin normally the wiper which divides the voltage between 0 and 10V which then varies the speed of the motor.

Re: Spindle drive connection
Checked my motor the info on it reads as follows -
MAKE - ASEA
3Phase - 50hz IEC34 IP54
MT71B-F85-4 Class F
0.37Kw 380/380-420VY 1.3A
1400r/min 220/220-240V 2.3A
No.1470779 CoS 0.69
Correct me if I'm wrong but the motor power is 0.37kw, so this one should suit the motor -
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/0-37kw-1-2HP- ... 337f5e4c30
I believe Mach3 can run this via a pwm 5 khz signal.

Re: Spindle drive connection
Should work - not sure about the PWM input but this looks like the datasheet:

Re: Spindle drive connection
Blown capacitors, resistors and power transistors...... it's ruined, not worth messing with. A new inverter is definately in order.

Re: Spindle drive connection, Brown and Pestel
Parker SSD 650 inverter, seems to be the one. Thought as the stepper driver's are parker, then might as well stick to the same make. Would anyone reckon it would be ok to mount the inverter in the tray of the pnc3 where the original inverter was, or does it have to be vertically mounted externally. The standard cooling fan does seem to do a good job of blowing sufficient air through the the tray for cooling.

I'm sure it'll be fine in the tray, the only thing to be wary of is positioning it to avoid dust, swarf etc getting blown into the drive.
