Thanks but the a/c/b table and page 5 onlly discusses stepper 0 to 2 does that mean there is no channel number 3 for a 4th stepper axis?

Yep you're right sorry :oops: - we must have used that sandwich board just to tap off the X,Y and Z step+direction in order to use bigger stepper drives (before Baldor fitted an IDC connector with all 4 axes on the top board for us)
