Access violation at address

Hi,
Myself and a friend recently bought an old Connect Major milling machine running VR Milling 2.3.We connected the machine to pc and we are able to jog the axis and turn on spindle.However when we import a gcode file from Techne cad/cam and try to run it we get the following error: "Access violation at address74E487A9 in module 'RICHED20.DLL'.Write off address 0040474E".
Any help is much appreciated as we are total novices at CNC.
