We have a Denford make trainer lathe at our institute ( Oriental Institue of Science & Technology) at Bhopal, India. Following are the details:-

Machine type : Trainer Lathe XLTURN

The machine was commissioned in the year 2003.

We are facing following problem on the machine :-

The operating system of the original PC got corrupt. We have reloaded the PC with Windows 98 operating system. There is one floppy (supplied along with the machine) which we have loaded on PC. This software works with PC keyboard, but does not communicate with DBTUTOR keyboard. We cannot make the machine move.

Previously to start the machine we used to type : “cd\turn” & “flstep” in DOS. But “ FLSTEP” software is not in this floppy.

We have checked all the fuses in electrical panel and they are ok. The display inside electrical panel shows “.L”.

Please suggest remedial action.

regards

Asheesh

Hi Asheesh,

FLSTEP software can be down loaded from

https://website.denford.ltd.uk/support/9 ... s-software

The "L" on the board usually means that the DOS Software is not communicating with the machine, which in your case would seem correct.

If you down load FLSTEP then you would need to copy your original FLSTEP.OPT and FLSTEP.GO into it. see this link

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2298&hilit=+opt+go

NOTE !!!!! ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR SOFTWARE
