Sometimes one of a machines axes may not datum, i.e. the axis moves slowly away from the datum switch until the system "Times Out". Usually this problem is solved by cleaning out the dust and debris that sometimes lodges inbetween the datum switch activation roller / arm and the detent button on the datum switch. Usually a good clean will solve the problem.
If any of that axes do not home, then the problem could be with :-
1. Faulty datum switch
2. Broken wires from the datum switch to the control board Input
3. Faulty control board Input
The new feature allows you (In HOME mode) to press each datum switch by hand and the relevant axis letter will appear in the HOME window, this ensures that all the possible problems i.e. 1, 2 and 3 above are all functioniing correctly. This new feature is a great time saver since you can quickly check each axis without having to use an electrical meter, undo wires and gain access to the electrical compartment etc etc

Note ? The axis letters will also appear (Briefly) when you perform a standard HOME routine.
