VR Turn feed rate fixed at 55 in/min

Post by Onshape Wizard » Wed 13 Nov , 2024 20:53 pm

Hello, I have been tasked with getting a Turn270NS back into a usable condition. It has sat around for just about 3 years and it runs on old software, but updating it would be a huge pain.
I have been attempting to do practice runs with Delrin, but no matter what I do to the feed rates, it remains at 55 in/min for whatever reason. When I attempt to run the machine, the machine tab tells me that it's running at the correct RPM but at the incorrect feed rate. It also tells me that the Tool selected is tool number 7, which is not true. I also cannot disable the potentiometers, as the second I click to disable them, the exit button is disabled and I am locked on that screen unless I restart the computer.

Is there anything I can do other than just update the software and hope that fixes things? I would have to email the IT department for everything that would require an administrator key, and quite frankly that would take forever.

Thanks!

It sounds like you have a scaling issue with the software and this may be why the OK button within machine parameters cannot be seen. i would certainly look at downloading the updated VR turning software from the website as the scaling issue would have been resolved. alternately you can set your zoom back to 100% to make the changes.

The maximum feedrate for the Turn270NS is 1400mm/min or around 55in/min so this is correct.

what position is the tool changer in when it reads position 7?
