Hello Denford!
We have two denford CNC machines in our lab that we would like to run from the same computer, both using USB ports (if possible).
Question 1: Can we run VRMilling and VRTurning at the same time?
Question 2: How do I set up the machines to recognize the USB ports?
I have downloaded and installed the current VRTurning and VRMilling software and also the Baldor USB driver. There is no option for setting the communications to the USB port in either software using the menus.
Our computer is WinXP SP2 with a decent graphics card and 2GB RAM.
At the moment the router is working great on the serial port, but the lathe is not found in VRTurning on either USB or COM1 (where the COM1 cable is the same from the router, so I know the cable and port are fine.)
Please advise.
Thanks,
Nancy Harris

Hi Nancy,
I will have a chat with ADMIN about connecting 2 different Denford Machines to 1 PC. I think there is a solution but better check out throughly first.
You say you cannot connect to your Microturn.
1. Are there any error messages on the PC screen?
2. Some Microturn cabinets had a observation hole in the rear panel to observe a 7 segment display, can you check and see if you can see what is displayed on the display. Otherwise take off the rear panel and check the display. If the display is not illuminated at all check the fuses.
I'm sure Denford Inc will be glad to talk to you about resolving your Microturn problems

- Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then. - Location: Sunny Brighouse

This can be done by changing the Node of one of the machines.
Basically you need to run the latest easy upgrader, changed the node number of one of the machines' control cards. Then change the node number in the software that controls this particular machine.
See this post for more details:

I would recommend changing the node of the Milling Machine as node changing has been used more often in VR Milling
