F1 Car machining Set Up

Post by DTTechboy » Thu 22 May , 2025 12:59 pm

We have finally got round to having a go at making our F1 car. Please could i have some help to set up the for machining of my designed car. The RHS program works a treat ,then when change to the LHS its producing an offset cut.
I have measured the step..1.375,halved it and added to the Y axis but it doesn't cut equally .I have re set the datum points on the Denford 2600 many a time, but to no avail.

Currently Using : Fusion 360,QCPRO,VR6 Milling

Hi DTTechboy,

Please see this forum post which has downloads and instructions on how to fine tune your offsets when machining a STEM Racing car.

https://www.denfordata.com/bb/viewtopic ... tup#p26070

if the offset changes over the length of the car, then this indicates that the fixture is not aligned correctly with the axis.

Thanks

Mitch
