Replace Denstep with Nextmove ST w/USB Controller

I have a Novaturn with a Denstep controller. The battery on the controller has leaked and corroded the serial connector and serial driver chips. The bottom board looks very good! The software will not communicate with the controller.
I would like to replace the complete Denstep controller with a complete logic and driver board, NEW Nextmove ST with USB controller that I already have. What are the required steps to covert to the Nextmove ST controller? This will be for the hardware and software changes.
