Emergency Stop problem

Hi,

i have been using the Denford Micromill for quite some time, but just yesterday, i encounter a problem on emergency stop. i cannot connect to the machine since it always indicate that it is in emergency stop. i try checking the button but i dont see any problem. may i know where is the ESR (relay) on the board so that i can check on the connection. or if you can suggest other possible source of the problem. thanks. hope you can help me.

What letter or number does the 7 segment display on the drive board ?

Can you also supply serial number so we know what type of electrical circuit it has.
We've had problems with some of the contact block on the emergency stop button - can you remove it and test it is switching ok with a multi-meter ?

the body serial no. E00616 and electric serial no. 00411290041. i clean the contact block of the ES Button by injecting compressed air hoping that it is just a loose contact but still the problem persist. by the way, how can i detach the black contact block so that i can inspect it.

That machine was made January 2005 - Micromill 2000 CE, shipped with a Nextmove control, Sprint 400 spindle drive and VR Milling version 5.5

Have you checked the Emergency Stop Push Button?

The relay you point out is the E-Stop relay. This should energise as you release the E-stop and drop out as you press the E-stop. Can you check if this happens?

I have highlighted the E-Stop circuit. The E-Stop will release provided the EStop is released (contact closed) and the reset key is also closed.

You can check this by dabbing a link wire from Pins 3 to pin 6 on Conn 6 This is shown in the diagram in red and will cause the E-stop relay to energise. If it drops out as the link is removed then the EStop contact is faulty.

Yopu can also check with a meter from pins 3 - 4 for continuity. There should be continuity when the E-Stop button is released.

I would try and vacuum the E-Stop contact block while pressing and releasing it.
