Basically you need to home the Z axis first and then using the Page Up button, jog the axis as far as it will go. The X needs doing the same way, Home it and then jog it as far to the left as you can. Doing this keeps the datum switches active so the software knows the tool changer is in a safe position to work.

1. Check that there is Air to the VMC, as there is a pressure switch in the system
2. Ensure the 8 way QM plug from the tool changer is connected
3. An M27 command will reset the posistion of the toolchager, but this MUST ONLY BE DONE when tool position No 1 is inline with the spindle

Hi. I’m asking here as I can not find a more accurate chat. I had to press emergency stop on the machine today as the cutter was blocking up with aluminium. No drama and no damage caused. However since doing this the auto tool changer is not picking up the correct tool. If I ask it to change to tool number 1 it is picking up tool number 2. Everything seems to have moved out by one position. If I can find some help or be pointed in the right direction to find a way to correct this I would be very grateful. Thanks.

Ask it to pick up either tool 6 or 8 depending on the number of station you have which should physically change to tool 1 in the spindle then input a M27 command. This will reset the program machine position to tool 1 to match.
