New (to me) 250.

So - I bought the machine - very pleased with it, it seems in excellent condition, and seems to have done very little work. See how clean the motor compartment is!

550W motor (3/4hp) so the 1hp inverter I bought as a good price "for Justin" will do the trick very nicely.

One question though - it doesn't have an auto knock-off for the threading feed - I thought that was a standard feature - certainly my older TDS 1/1 GBL has it - is it an easy retro fit to the apron I wonder - are the drawings available anywhere ?

I'll post more pictures and details as I give it a good going over and get the inverter wired in. It's in the garage for the moment as I can't get it in the workshop while the old machine's still in there...

Nice looking machine!
Re the auto knock off - standard fitting is auto knock off for the auto traverse, and yours seems to have this, at least the collar is fitted to the feedshaft, but I wasn't aware any of them had an auto knock off for the threading leadscrew. Theres no mention of it in the handbooks, and certainly my 280 doesn't have it. If your older machine has it, I'd be interested to see a photo.

Richard,

I'll be sure to take some pictures - won't be after the end-of-year break now - I want to tidy a few points up on the old machine before selling it - I'll take some pictures then.
