There's an unusual Viceroy on Ebay, it has an auxiliary gearbox to drive the leadscrew.
Haven't seen anything like that before.
Can anyone throw any light on it ?

Les - I reckon it is a 'bitsa'.

The name plate says TDS....PL.. - PL being for 'Plain Lathe', IIRC - meaning no screwcutting, feeds or any other nicities.

The leadscrew support bracket on the RHS of the bed looks to be home-made, and the tumbler gear mechanism definitely is.
Is the apron from a Denford? I'm not sure.
Someone clearly put a lot of work into this conversion - but I can't help feeling that it would be best broken for useful spares and weighing in the rest!
