Viceroy TDS 1 lathe mounting holes

Hi, could anyone explain why these holes are threaded please
the 4 ive circled and 2 at the tailstock end, is there some sort of special bolt for them

Can you supply any further photos?
It would also help if you explained why you are asking the question?

I can't see the picture for some reason - but on my 280 the machine is mounted using studs, so I suspect that practise was carried over from the 5" machines.

Hi Andy, it is mounted using studs, but these are a smaller diameter than the holes, so i didnt know if something was missing with the holes being threaded, 2 of the studs had snapped one in the tail stock mounting and 1 in the headstock mounting, i just need to find out the size so i can replace them
