Post by parcelsafe » Tue 19 Feb , 2008 20:44 pm

Can anyone help? I have just purchased a 280vs with motor control for vari speed and the headstock is knocking. Also the backgear selector engages neutral on it's own. I have stripped the headstock down and can not see what the problem is. PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME!! I also have a TDS 1/1GB MK2 and a AWE Horizon Viceroy milling machine, I have manuals for both if anybody needs a copy.[/b]

Hi Parcelsafe,

Was this the 280VS that was on ebay recently?

The knocking - does it occur in back-gear and direct drive?
Is it there if the motor is run and the back-gear selector is in neutral?

And the back-gear selector - does it not stay engaged either back-gear or direct drive? If so it sounds like the detent ball/spring is missing or damaged.

My 280VS knocks in high gear beacuse there is a tooth damaged on one of the gears - so I need to get / cut a replacement one day.
I have copies drawings for quite a lot of the headstock.
Please PM me and we can continue the discussion via email.

Andy

Hardware/Software: Go to User Control Panel > Profile
Enter as much information about your CNC hardware and software as you can - it makes it easier for everyone to know what you're talking about then.

Thanks for the offer...
If you can scan them, I'll put them on here for everyone to download (depending on the size, you may not be able to upload them as an attachment normally)
