Laser cutter smoking post clean

Post by HastingsLD » Tue 05 Nov , 2019 11:03 am

Hi,
I have recently cleaned our schools laser cutter and the first 2 times it has been used it smoked so much the teacher switched it off. I have checked the extraction pipe, but its securely attached.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What model of Versalaser do you have & what extraction unit is fitted?

It may be worth checking the air flow where it comes out of the extraction unit either on the back if it's a Bofa unit (Door on side) or underneath if it's a ULS unit 2 doors in front).

I have seen an issue before on the ULS extraction unit where the Carbon filter was blocked & did not let any air flow through it.
