Re: Laser not cutting as good as it used to
The key to keeping the Laser cutting efficiently is to observe the following :-
1. Ensure the optics are clean, this includes the Beam window on the internal LHS of the laser, Mirror No 2 on the LHS of the laser and the No 3 mirror and Lens on the carriage.
2. Ensure AUTO FOCUS is selected
3. Ensure the Focal height of the lens is set correctly (Setting tool is a White plastic dowel on a black base) see manual that came with the laser for instructions.
4. Ensure the air assist cone is fitted when cutting flamable materials, and air is coming out of it
5. Ensure the air assist cone is fitted correctly on to the spigot, if not the beam hits the cone side and dissipates the laser power
6. Ensure there is no residue blocking the air assist cone outlet

Hi there, I am having this problem and have done everything you have suggested but do not know where to find the 'auto focus' you mention ?
Why did I choose this profession, cos it aint for the money !

It's shown in this document as Auto Z for the older software.

And on page 36 in this document for the newer drivers:
