Hi,
We are having difficulties when screw cutting with low carbon steel. The tool stops and jams halfway down the thread depth, half way along the length of the screw.
When looking at the cam wizard in quickturn 2d I have found the RPM & pecking depth for cutting aluminium & steel are the same. Surely this is wrong ?

We've tested those settings on steel and aluminium here and had no problems.
A different type of steel and/or cutter will need different settings though and that'll need a bit of trial and error
Try reducing the cutting depth, then the spindle RPM.

The lower the spindle speed the less torque you have while cutting.
In harder steel you may have to reduce the peck depth but provided the pitch of the screw is not too course you can increase the spindle speed too If you go too fast it is impossible to get a decent pitch but if you go up to say 600RPM you will get more torque.
